Philosophy and Approach
I work in collaboration with you in the belief that we are all whole and complete and have likely developed barriers, beliefs and behaviors that are limiting or making us feel broken. The theoretical orientations I use include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Behavioral Activation. As a therapist, I strive to work with you bringing compassion, humor, and a deep belief for the capacity to change. During individual sessions we will work together to identify habitual patterns and deep-seated beliefs, learn skills to decrease suffering, and ways of being to increase an inner sense of freedom.
With an understanding of multiple theoretical orientations, I will choose the one that will be most effective in the moment for treatment. The most important aspect for healing is the authentic and trusting relationship between therapist and client. I value connection, mutual respect, and transparency in the therapeutic relationship, and welcome honest communication as we work together to create an individualized treatment plan that helps you achieve your goals.
